THANKGOD

My name is THANKGOD Obiani, a Master’s student in Public Health, and Class Representative. I am running for GCU Student President because I genuinely care about students and believe our Students’ Association should work for everyone.

A student speaks up, another listens, and change begins. I want a campus where every voice matters, support is real, and opportunity is shared. Leadership is showing up, listening closely, and turning student words into action

Student life is about more than lectures and exams. The basics matter. I will campaign for free breakfasts for freshers, improved accommodation standards, temporary accommodation for new students upon arrival, and more affordable laundry costs in Caledonian Court, because these everyday issues directly affect well-being and success.

For home students, one of the biggest challenges is the slow and complicated process of accessing financial grants. I will push for simpler systems, clearer information, and faster decisions so students receive support when they need it.

Academic fairness is a key priority. No student should face delays to graduation. I will push for international students to be allowed to resit their courses within their visa timelines.

I will also advocate for better career guidance, clearer pathways into employment, and stronger support to help students plan their futures with confidence.

Inclusion is central to my vision. GCU London students should feel just as represented and supported as those in Glasgow. I will work to ensure students on both campuses are fully included in both social and academic activities, representation, and access to academic and support services.

Inclusivity matters to me. I will support disabled students, promote mental health, represent students confidently, work with the Executive Committee, and deliver change while continuing the good legacy of past student leaders.

Together, we can make it happen.

Vote THANKGOD and then, THANK GOD!
