My Manifesto

Hello, my name is CHIDOZIE NWAIGWE, I am a seasoned student leader and an advocate for students’ voice being heard. I have an excellent understanding of GCU and believe I am best fit for the job of President.

I was a Class Representative, Department of Environmental Management Rep, Disabled Students Officer at GCU 2022/23, a member of the University Senate, An awardee of the prestigious Postgraduate Ambassador Scholarship and also The Magnusson Award 2022, where I constructed a free solar powered borehole for a community in Nigeria.

Through these roles, I have worked together with the Students’ Association and the University, to foster a better learning experience for all students.

As President, I will

  • Ensure that I relentlessly represent the voice, feelings, and interests of all students.
  • Lead more enlightenment campaigns for mental health and disability awareness, to ensure those who need help get it.
  • Push for one Free meal daily (not just breakfast), noting that not all students have early morning lectures.
  • Target more culturally diverse meal selections in the University canteen.
  • Availability of hot water flasks campus.
  • Ensure better efficacy of SAAS to home students.
  • Work towards a lasting solution to accommodation crisis faced by international students.
  • Lobby to create an all-encompassing GCU app, to enable real time information sharing and student interaction.
  • Create more social activities, to ensure good work/life balance of students.
  • Push for 24 hours library opening.
  • Increase employability of students by attracting more private companies to recruit locally from GCU.
  • Fight racism, while promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Promote a green and sustainable campus.
  • Promote an open-door policy where students feel free to walk into the Students Association Building and speak to any officer about difficulties they may be facing on campus.

Please note the Individual and Team Objectives have not yet been set for the Full Time Officers.
