Being active with a sports clubs is a great way to make new friends, have some fun and feel good. There are around 32 different clubs, all organised by GCU student volunteer committees and most hold weekly activities and participate in competitions throughout the year. You can try any sports club activity once for free but after that you must pay the membership fee (Step 1) and joining fee for each club (Step 2) as outlined below:
Purchasing your ‘Sports Club Membership’ with GCU Students’ Association. This membership costs £15 and is a prerequisite to joining any Sports Club. The membership provides you with Essential Personal Accident Insurance and funds are used from this membership to support sports club activities.
Select the sports club(s) you want to join on their individual webpage and then pay the ‘Club Joining Fee’ for each club you want to join. NB Club Joining Fees are set by each individual sports club and can vary in price from £10-£40. Remember, you can join as many clubs as like.

Becoming a Volunteer Committee Member
You can also volunteer to be on a Sports Club Committee and could be responsible for co-ordinating activities, leading the team on the pitch or organising social events. If you become a Sports Club Committee member you will qualify to take part in the Student Leaders Programme! If you don’t find a Sports Club you like then you can start your own.
