Our Commitments

To show our commitment to our work on Ethical and Environmental issues, GCU Students’ Association have created a Sustainability Policy which is updated every 3 years (please note that the renewal of this policy is currently undergoing and is due for approval in October 2018). This details all our commitments to being a more sustainable organisation. Some of these commitments include:

  • Measuring the carbon footprint of all business travel and encouraging more sustainable travelling to staff, students and visitors
  • A ban on the use of domestic flights for business travel
  • Purchasing 100% recycled paper and stationary made from recycled materials
  • Only purchasing tea, coffee and sugar which is Fairtrade certified for all Students’ Association meetings

We also have extensive recycling opportunities within the Students’ Association Building and free drinking water points for all to use.

Where can I recycle in the Students’ Association?

Where is this free drinking water?

Level 0 – Next to the Ladies Toilets

Level 2 – Next to the Staff Room

There is also free drinking water located across different buildings on campus.
