GCU Students' Association has to comply with the requirements of this legislation, which regulates the processing of personal data and protects the rights of individuals whom the data is about by placing duties on those who decide how and why such data is processed. Employees consider or enter into an employment contract with GCU Students’ Association, subject to satisfactory references, a disclosure check and verification of qualifications. The legal basis for processing information for prospective or current employees is relying on the employment contract, our legal obligations as an employer and legitimate interests through providing good employment practice. We may collect and use your personal information for statistical and archive purposes in the public interest.
All GCU students automatically become members of GCU Students' Association. GCU Staff, Life or Honorary Life Members can become Associate Members. The legal basis for processing information for members is relying on our legal obligations under the Education Act 1994, you providing consent (such as for direct marketing purposes) and through legitimate interests in processing a students' membership and sending communications relating to their memberhip, as part of the wider GCU student experience. We may collect and use your personal information for statistical and archive purposes in the public interest.
The legal basis for processing information from Suppliers, Contractors and Clients is that it is necessary for the performance of a contract or prior to entering into a contract.
