Wellbeing

Wellbeing

All of us have mental health, just as we all have physical health. There is a lot that you can do to stay mentally healthy – eating well, taking regular exercise, learning something new and having a good study-life balance can all help. However, we know that one in four of us will experience a mental health problem at some point in our lives.

If you are struggling please reach out and consider talking about it with a trusted friend or family member, or with one of our Student Advisers in the Advice Centre.  We are not trained counsellors but we offer a private, confidential space and time to talk about how you're feeling and the impact it's having on you and your studies.  We can also help you to reach out to more specialised organisations for support and work out whether using any of the university's procedures or support services might be helpful to you.

The GCU Wellbeing Team has a  wide collection of self-help resources on their website as well as access to an online support platform called Togetherall which can provide remote support and resources 24/7.

For more infromation about the services offered free to all GCU students in the GCU Wellbeing team (including counselling sessions, disability advice and mental health specialists) click here -  talk to someone.

All students at Glasgow Caledonian University are automatically members of GCU Students' Association.
This membership is free for current GCU students.
