We launched our new strategic plan in October 2025 after extensive consultation with GCU students (our members), our employees, the University, and with our Trustees. Both the University and the Students’ Association were keen to ensure greater strategic alignment, whilst ensuring we continued to be distinctive. 

We consulted with GCU students through our Annual Student Survey, an open consultation through our All Student Email and at our Student Voice and Sub Committee meetings. From the survey respondents:

• 77% agreed we had the right Vision
• 83% agreed we had the right Mission
• 84% agreed we had the right Strategic Goals

Our Board agreed our SWOT Analysis and PESTLE Analysis in February 2025 and reviewed our ICE (Impact x Confidence x Ease) scoring exercise in May 2025.

Our Strategic Plan 2030 was approved by our Trustee Board in October 2025. It is mapped against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Scottish Government National Performance Framework.
