Go Green Week 2023 - Funding is now open 

As part of the city-wide Glasgow Goes Green initiative, GCU Sustainability and GCU Students' Association have funding available to help members of the GCU community host events from 13th -  16th March 2023 focusing on sustainability.  Plus, as part of the university and Students Assocaitions'  commitment to sustainability and student-led activities, Societies, Media Groups, Sports Clubs and Representation Networks can receive full funding PLUS a £50 incentive for general club budgets to develop and deliver an event that promotes sustainability. 

Here's how:

Step one: Develop an event for Go Green Week 2023

Step two: Submit a funding application (below) before Wednesday 8th February at 12noon

Criteria: 

• Student, Staff or Society/Club/Network at GCU
• Event/activity to take place during Go Green Week (13th - 17th March 2023) 
• Event promotes sustainability

Need some inspiration? Here are some examples:

• Hosting a speaker on sustainability issues
• Litter picking in the local community or near where you regularly meet/practice
• An environmental-themed movie night followed by a discussion
• Taking public transport as a group to a practice or fixture
• Swap kit day - encourage members to bring in their old kit/equipment and hold a swap shop for members
• Repair workshop - use the funds to support a professional to fix and/or educate on how to fix equipment, clothes, household goods
• Work with a local community group to get their plots/gardens ready for winter
• Host a plant exchange or workshop on caring for houseplants
