The Snap It Off! Campaign was launched by the National Union of Students after students voiced concern over electrical energy being wasted through unnecessary lighting. Students nationwide are encouraged to take pictures of areas or locations on their campus which highlight energy wastage and submit these to NUS. NUS then follow up on each picture submitted to stop energy being wasted.
You can submit a picture at any time through the Snap It Off! website.
The GCU Students’ Association supports this campaign, and held a competition for Snap It Off! Day in February 2015.This year’s winner, who received £50 worth of Buchanan Galleries vouchers, was Laura Black. Laura excellently pointed out that there is no way to switch off the lights in the library mobile shelving units! Well done Laura!
