The London STAR Awards is an annual event held by the Students' Association to celebrate the hard work and dedication of GCU Students.

 

The categories open to London students are:

 

• London Academic Representative of the Year 2023/24

The Academic Representative of the Year is the award for the academic representative who has made the biggest impact on the lives of the students that they represent.

 

• Best Overall Contribution from a London Student 2023/24

Best Overall Contribution from a Student is an award to recognise a class mate who has shown outstanding commitment, enthusiasm and reliability throughout teaching and learning.

 

• GCU Student of the Year 2023/24

The GCU Student of the Year Award is open to all current GCU students and is given to the student who has shown great commitment to Glasgow Caledonian University's motto: For the Common Good.

 

• The Lindsay Leadership Award 2023/24

The Lindsay Leadership Award is open to any student who has completed the Student Leaders Programme and has demonstrated exceptional leadership ability.

 

• Ethical & Environmental Award 2023/24

This is an award to recognise the efforts made by an individual or group who help to promote sustainability and/or environmental impact at GCU, inspire others to improve sustainability/environmental impact and has worked to create (social, economic, and/or environmental) impact.

 

• The Mental Health & Wellbeing Champion Award 2023/24

This will be awarded to one individual or group who has influenced members of the GCU community to look after their mental health and physical wellbeing.

 

• London Volunteer of the Year 2023/24

This will be awarded to one individual or group who has been the most effective and engaged volunteer, helping other students on their journey at GCU.

 

Nomination Deadlines:

Tuesday 2nd April at 9am - Student of the Year and Lindsay Leadership

Thursday 28th March at 12noon - all other London awards

 

 

Awards Ceremony

The ceremony for all London Awards will be held on Thursday 18th April at 4pm - Room 1.13 in Fashion Street, London.
