My name is Dr. OLADELE ONADA 

I am running for Vice President School of Health and Life Sciences.

I am a dual Nigerian-Irish nationality and a PhD student in the School of Health and Life Sciences. I was involved in politics in Ireland at the House of Senate and the Queen’s University, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Presently, I am the GCU Health and Safety representative and deputy postgraduate research representative. I have the work and student learning life experiences to serve the students.

Manifestoes:

Voice of students in the School of Health and Life Sciences will be represented at all levels of the degree programmes by engaging with student union voice leaders and the university education and programmes committees.

Alleviate living crisis with student breakfast.

Programmes and curriculum integration with Russel group universities in Scotland to improve transition of GCU students into masters and PhD programmes with support network.

Promote clinical teachings and skills for nursing students in GCU before placements in hospital wards with better conditions for teaching, placements and pay for GCU  students.

High standard of education and laboratory training by working with students to provide workshops in laboratory project reports writing, academic essays, systematic literature reviews writing, referencing management, mentorship, career advice and ensuring constructive feedbacks from lecturers to motivate students in class assessments.

Working with staff members to promote equality, diversity and inclusivity in the lecture rooms and laboratories by implementing policies for students and university staff.

Wellbeing and life balance with provision of GCU Clinics, GCU student housing, campus fridge food storage, free gym membership and Philanthropists donations.

Biomedical companies and NHS jobs recruitment workshops for GCU students by sponsoring social events to promote diversity in the pharmaceutical, healthcare and biosciences workforce for GCU students.

Prevention of gender-based violence and sexual harassment educating students on consents.

All students at Glasgow Caledonian University are automatically members of GCU Students' Association.
This membership is free for current GCU students.
