Safe Taxi Scheme with Glasgow Taxis

        

 

Glasgow Taxis and GCU Students' Association are working together to help any GCU student get home safely, should they for whatever reason, find they cannot fund their travel home.  If you find yourself in this situation, at any time of the day, you can call Glasgow Taxis and repay your fare once you are in a position to do so.   All you need to do is call Glasgow Taxis, advise you are a GCU student and wish to use the Get Home Safe Scheme, confirm your Student ID with your driver, and Glasgow Taxis will get you home up to a value of £20.00.

 

How to Book Your Taxi:

 

1. Please always call Glasgow Taxis directly on 0141 429 6666.

2. Please advise the operator you are a GCU Student and you wish to use the Get Home Safe Scheme.

3. You will be asked to provide your full name and GCU Student ID number. You will also be asked to present your Student ID to the driver on arrival to verify this.

4. You will receive a Text Tracking link to track the progress of your booking.

5. On arrival, the driver will ask for your Student ID before the journey begins and they will confirm this with Glasgow Taxis Base. Once confirmed, the driver will take you to your destination.

6. The GCU Students' Association will be in touch with you to arrange repayment of the fare. 

 

Important:  You must provide your valid GCU Student ID. If you cannot provide an ID, you cannot use the scheme.

 

COVID-19 and Travel:

 

We must all work together to protect each other and apply as many layers as possible to mitigate transmission of COVID-19. When you travel, please protect yourself, and others, by following some simple guidelines:

 

1. Wash your hands thoroughly before travelling.

2. Wear a face covering if applicable.

3. If travelling with more than one person, please keep your journey as short as possible and avoid contact as much as possible.

4. Wash your hands thoroughly after your journey.

 

All Glasgow Taxis vehicles are regularly cleaned using Ozone Deep Clean technology. All drivers have an enhanced cleaning policy in place where they wipe down all surfaces between journeys. Every taxi keeps you separated from your driver by a purpose built screen.
