Student Trustee Vacancy

Student Trustee Position (voluntary position, expenses paid)
recruitment for 2024/25 trustees

We are seeking four Student Trustee to sit on our Trustee Board who has strategic thinking, independent judgement, an ability to think creatively and a willingness to speak your mind. We encourage all students to apply but especially invite students who have had a leadership role within the Students' Association, University or the local community and have a good understanding of the issues affecting students and the different types of students (undergraduate, postgraduate, full time, part time, international, mature, articulation etc). We are particularly looking for undergraduate students to apply.

This is not a representative role but we are looking for students who can help us make decisions in the best interests of our members (GCU students), as we are a charity.

A full induction and training programme will be provided. You would be expected to attend four meetings a year, training event and some social activities.

Please note that only GCU students who are intending to study in the next academic year can apply to be a Student Trustee.

Trustee Role Description

GCU Students’ Association exists to represent and enable GCU students to enhance all aspects of their student experience. We are an award winning Students’ Association and were the first Students’ Association to have received the NUS Scotland University Students’ Association of the Year Award.

Please send a copy of your CV (or copy of your LinkedIn profile) and a supporting statement demonstrating how you meet the Trustee Person Specification and your relevant knowledge, background or experience that would benefit the Trustee Board to hello@GCUstudents.co.uk. Please put ‘Student Trustee’ in the subject field. Deadline for submission of applications is Monday 22nd April 2024. Successful applications will be invited to an informal interview with our Appointments Committee.
