Boost your employability and enhance your student experience

Monday 05-11-2018 - 18:27

In this competitive world, more and more employers are looking for the skills you have gained beyond your degree.  Did you know that you can boost your employability by getting involved with extra-curricular activities here at the Students’ Association, gaining a competitive edge and standing out amongst your peers?

Here at the Students' Association, we represent your academic interests by offering a variety of ways to get involved, generate new skills and make new friends. By getting involved with programmes such as the Student Leaders Programme you can develop your leadership skills, knowledge and behaviours to become a more effective leader—increasing your future employability.

Joining and being part of a sports club or society can be a life changing experience. You could meet people who will be in your life forever and discover new passions that will drive you in your future career and enhance your student experience. You can enhance your skills by getting involved with one of our Student Media Groups—be part of our radio station, Radio Caley, and our magazine The EDIT.

If you’re passionate about making a difference to student wellbeing, you have the opportunity to volunteer in our Nightline Service, or as a Wellbeing Volunteer. If you think you can make a difference to the learning experience at GCU, you can be a part of Student Voice—here you can submit and vote on ideas, what Students' Association activities, services and campaigns to run, and in turn help drive positive change. Together we can be part of something…Bigger.
