Keep Wednesdays Free for Sports Day @ GCU Students' Association

This Idea was approved at Student Voice on the 21st october 2024 with the following amendments:

To include volunteering and participatory activities as well as sports
For the university to enforce the current policy that states Wednesday afternoons should be kept free for sports, volunteering and participatory activites.

Many students at GCU have classes scheduled on Wednesday afternoons, even though Wednesdays are when BUCS and Cup games are held for sports. I would Like to put forward the idea that Wednesdays be kept free for all students so that the students who are involved in sports clubs can participate in sporting events held on this day. Many universities in Scotland have already adopted this idea and it would be good to see GCU get on board and encourage students to get involved in sports.
