Free gym membership for all GCU students

This idea was discussed at student Voice on 24 October 2022. It was amended to free gym memberships for international fee-paying students, students applying for discretionary funding and students volunteering as student representatives. This is in addition to our already stated commitment to campaign for social prescribing gym memberships by the Student Wellbeing Team
I am on campus 4 out of 5 full days a week and it would be so much easier to just leave class and head over to the Arc and tap my student card but I just can't justify the price for the GCU gym for what you get. Free access for GCU students would encourage more to get moving and elevates some financial worries - UWS have this for their students and it proves very popular.
All students at Glasgow Caledonian University are automatically members of GCU Students' Association.
This membership is free for current GCU students.

Yes, especially with the cost of living, having access to even the showers would be crucial for those in need.
I agree, I think the membership is excessive for what is offered. They also need to fix the broken hairdryer in the women's locker room.
