The society’s goal is to foster dialogue and unity among young people in the UK and EU, providing an academic and cultural platform for discourse on European affairs. It seeks to empower student leaders, enhance political engagement, and represent GCU within the wider European Society network at national and international levels.
Membership offers students access to a vibrant UK-EU network, opportunities to attend national and international conferences, and connections with policymakers and leaders. Through engaging events, cultural exchanges, and policy hackathons, members develop leadership skills while shaping youth voices in post-Brexit discussions, fostering dialogue, unity, and meaningful political engagement.
Our projects and events range from youth political engagement initiatives like mini-parliament debates, student-led surveys, and Q\&A sessions with policymakers, to EU-UK youth unity programmes such as dialogue forums and cultural exchanges. We also run post-Brexit accountability projects, including campaigns on youth opportunities and policy hackathons. Additionally, we organise career and networking initiatives, from career pathway series with alumni in international institutions to collaborations with other UK university societies that strengthen opportunities for young people.
