Meet Guide Dogs

You guessed correct, Guide Dogs will be bringing real live dogs (guide dogs in training) to the university!

Come along and find out how you can support someone with sight loss living in your community through Guide Dogs volunteering opportunities!

There are currently two million people in the UK living with sight loss, with this number predicted to double by 2050. Sight loss is also becoming more common in children and young people. At Guide Dogs, our ambition is a future where every person with sight loss has the confidence and support they need to live their lives to the full.

But to do that we (Guide Dogs) need YOU!

  • Meet our working guide dogs and puppies in training!
  • Try out our blindfold walk challenge!
  • Learn about Guide Dogs services and volunteering opportunities
  • Hear from guide dog owners about their experience of sight loss
  • Put yourself in their shoes – Would you manage daily tasks such as shopping and eating dinner without your sight? Try our interactive activities to experience what it can be like for people who are blind or partially sighted
