Sustainable Intercultural Skills Awareness Workshop Pilot

Wednesday 09-01-2019 - 09:53

I am happy to introduce the pilot of an Intercultural Skills Awareness Workshop into five different modules across Glasgow Caledonian University campus. I have developed this workshop, working with University staff, which was launched on  20 November 2018. This workshop was designed to help improve students awareness on intercultural diversity to help them develop skills for easy integration in any profession they find themselves across the globe, building them into an active global citizen. The workshop has over 2,500 year-one students registered on GCULearn and was piloted first with Environmental Management year-one students on 20 November 2018. To develop this project, a working group was organised, a learning outcome was drafted, followed by development of an online resources and consultation of the three schools on campus.

Thanks to the working group namely, Adrian Lui (GCU Equality and Diversity Advisor), Frances MacInnes (Senior Lecturer  - SHLS), Fraser McLeish (Learning Technologist - SHLS) who made the development of the workshop very successful. Also thanks to Sabine McKinnon (former staff at GCU) for her support.
