Sustainability – How you can get involved

Tuesday 10-04-2018 - 09:33

GCU Students’ Association are committed to encouraging students to lead ethical, and sustainable lifestyles. The Association as in institution work hard to reduce our carbon footprint and encourage environmentally conscious behaviours in both students and staff; which can be seen in projects such as our Sustainability Policy, our SMART Action Plan, etc.

For any student who would like to get further involved in the environmental work of the Association; there is the Ethical and Environmental Committee.

The student-led committee is chaired by our Ethical and Environmental Officer (Caitlin Reid) with support from the Full Time Officer Policy Lead (Rachel Simpson; VP GSBS), staff within the Students’ Association and student volunteers. Students can volunteer their time to help run campaigns and contribute to policies within GCU Students’ Association.

Work the committee has produced this year include our Wee Green Survey, 5 Wee Green Changes, the ECOSIA Campaign, Staff Sustainability projects, and much more!

You can find out more about the committee, and the work it does, at this link here;

Students with an interest in sustainability can also join our newly established Facebook group!
