Student Case Study - Sophie Thirkell, The EDIT

Saturday 31-08-2019 - 00:00

Sophie Thirkell, BSc (Hons) Multimedia Journalism

Why did you decide to get involved?

I mainly got involved because I study journalism. I wrote an article in first year with Fatherson, who are now pretty big which is exciting. I put myself forward for the Music Editor position originally but then the Deputy Editor role became available. I organised meetings/people and came up with ideas.

What difference has it made to your university experience being involved?

A big difference. Being part of a successful magazine gives you so much confidence.

What difference has your involvement made to others?

I'd like to think a good difference. The student magazine has the potential to enrich the lives of all students.
