Student Case Study - Sharon Russell, Student Leaders Programme

Sharon Russell, MSc Human Resource Management

How did you first get involved?

I first became involved with the Students' Association as I was volunteer within the University. This meant I could get involved in the Student Leaders Programme.

Why did you decide to get involved?

I decided to become involved in the Students' Association as I wanted to add the Student Leaders Programme to my CV.  I believe this is a great achievement completing both the Development and Advanced level and a something future employers will notice.

What difference has it made to your university experience being involved?

Through being part of the Students' Association I feel I have actively become part of GCU outwith my studies. It has given me the opportunity to meet new people and to do things I would not have necessarily had the chance to do.

What difference has your involvement made to others?

I have been able to connect with others from different disciplines throughout the University.  I know this had helped me through my time at GCU and would be please if it did the same for other students.
