One of the key promises I made in my election manifesto this year, was to introduce various vocational courses to GCU Students; one of which I’d specifically named being the Scottish Mental Health First Aid Award. The Award is the only one of its kind accredited by the NHS in Scotland.

Through various efforts I’ve managed to secure funding, a trainer and the course will now be delivered to students from this September, through our award-winning Student Leaders’ Programme! #CampaignWin

Additionally, I’ve ensured that other training courses have been added to the programme, including Unconscious Bias training!

More information on other courses, which I’ve managed to have introduced, will be made available across the campus for GCU Students will be announced shortly.
