Hey Lovelies! đ
Howâs it going? Iâve got some interesting work going on as regards student housing and have created a full week for everyone to get involved. Let's call it Housing week!!
đď¸ Housing Week: November 11th - 15th đď¸
Be a part of GCUâs Student Housing Week! Each day brings a unique activity to explore housing challenges, share solutions, and make some noise for positive change. Hereâs whatâs coming up:
Monday, November 11 - Letâs Talk Housing
Weâre kicking things off by sharing GCU-specific findings from the NUS Housing Survey. Look out for these results on our socials to see whatâs impacting our student community. Weâll also be reaching out to the Housing Minister to make sure your voices are heard loud and clear.
Tuesday, November 12 - Surprise Sofa Stunt
From 11am to 1pm, look out for our pop-up Sofa Stunt on Campus! Grab a seat, share your housing story, and snap a photo or video with props. Itâs a chance to share real experiencesâwhether youâve ever had to crash on a friendâs couch or hosted someone in needâand raise awareness about the challenges of finding a place to call home.
Wednesday, November 13 - Campus Bean Bag Conversation â
Get cosy on the bean bags for the launch of our Campus Bean Bag Conversation in the SA Building: 1st Topic - "Is Your House a Home?" Over tea, coffee, and biscuits, students can relax, share stories, and exchange advice on housing challenges in a laid-back environment. A member of the universityâs accommodation team will join us to offer insights and help answer questions. Note: This is the launch of Campus Bean Bag Conversations, a monthly event with fresh themes each timeâdonât miss the first one!

Thursday, November 14 - National Rally at Holyrood đ
Want to take action beyond campus? Join us at the National Rally at Holyrood at 1pm to stand up for better housing conditions. Weâre covering bus fare for the first five students who sign up to attend, so reach out soon if youâre interested! This is a great opportunity to be part of a larger movement making waves across the country.
Friday, November 15 - Press Day
To round off Housing Week, weâre sharing all the highlights and insights with the local press, amplifying student voices and experiences beyond campus.
Whether youâre sharing your story on the sofa, getting cosy on a bean bag, or rallying for change, thereâs something for everyone this Housing Week.
For questions, ideas, or to get involved, feel free to reach out.
