The Allister Boyd Legacy Group are leaving Glasgow tomorrow to embark on a great challenge, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro!

Allister Boyd was a former student of the University who in 2008 at just 19 years, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour after successfully battling cancer since 2005. Allister raised a vast amount of the £350,000 needed for the unit at The Royal Hospital for Sick Children through many events before losing his battle with Cancer in 2009. His legacy lives on with GCU students who are inspired by his work.

Mount Kilimanjaro the highest peak on the African continent and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world. Rising in isolation from the surrounding coastal scrubland to 19,336 feet which is a massive challenge.

The group have raised over £66,000 already and have a target of £70,000. If you would like to donate, pop over to their Just Giving Page.
We wish them all the best and look forward to the slideshow and stories on their return!
