Congratulations to all of this year's sports award winners.

The trophies were presented at the annual Sports Ball on Saturday 11th April by Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Mairi Watson, and by Vice President GSBS Eilidh Stewart.

 

Here's all the award winners.

Colours

Awarded for exceptional service to a sports club, including culminating years of service or active involvement as a committee member.

Half and Full Blues

Presented for consistent, exceptional sporting performance or accomplishments. Could all the winners please come to the stage to receive their blues trophy.

 

Half Blues winners:

Full Blues winners:

Alasdair Grantham, Karate

Ella Haime, Badminton

Best 1st Year Award (Alex Goodman Trophy)

Presented to the 1st year student who has made the most outstanding contribution to a sports club this year.

Winner: Iona Calma, Dance

 

Coach of the Year

Awarded to the student coach who has given exceptional service and outstanding voluntary commitment throughout the year.

Winner: Taylor Langmuir, Snowsports

 

 

Best Volunteer Award (Ross Baillie Trophy)

Presented to the student who has given the most outstanding voluntary commitment and contribution to a sports club.

Winner: Rebecca Watt, Dance

 

 

Sportsperson of the Year
Presented to the student who has had the most outstanding sporting performance or achievement this year.

Winner: Alasdair Grantham, Karate

 

Most Improved Club

Awarded to the club that demonstrates the greatest overall improvement over the course of the year in comparison to last year.

Winner: Tennis

Team of the Year

Awarded to the team with the best overall sporting performance.

Winner: Ski Racing

 

Club of the Year

Awarded to the sports club that has had the most extraordinary year, considering activities, profile, fundraising and development.

Winner: Dance
