DLÙ

DLÙ are a modern trad band mixing traditional tunes with funk rock beats. The line up features Andrew Grossart on drum kit, who has studied many styles of drumming from rock to Latin and jazz. Aidan Spiers achieved his HND Music Performance at Glasgow Kelvin College. He plays guitar and bass. Moilidh NicGriogair is on fiddle and piano and Zach Ronan is on accordion. They are both students at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying classical piano and classical accordion respectively. All four members met and began playing music together while at the Glasgow Gaelic School. Due to their diverse musical backgrounds, each musician brings something individual to the band, allowing them to give every set they arrange a unique combination of instrumentation and styles. - https://www.facebook.com/dluband/

Imogen Islay

Imogen is a singer/songwriter and Clarsach player from the Highlands of Scotland, now based in Glasgow and has been been playing music for nearly fifteen years and songwriting for around seven. Kirsten & Callum Forsyth

Gasbin Bapeer

Gasbin is a singer-songwriter and musician living in Glasgow. She is originally Kurdish and before moving to Scotland she lived in the Netherlands. This has led her to not just be influenced by music from the west but also by artists, bands and musicians from Kurdistan and from Holland. She is not bound by one genre. She thinks it's important that as a musician, you can draw inspiration from many types of music whether it's Folk or Electronic, Funk or Hip Hop.

Edinburgh College Traditional Music Band 

The college’s traditional music band is made up of several fiddlers and woodwind players as the ‘front line’, and a handful of guitarists, percussionists, pianists and bassists for the rhythm section. We play our own arrangements of Celtic tunes – reels, jigs, strathspeys, airs, hornpipes and lots more – from Scotland, Ireland, the USA and beyond. The band has performed at many concerts and functions over the years, and were recently invited to take part in a student showcase as part of Glasgow’s Celtic Connections festival, as well as playing as a support act at Edinburgh Folk Club and in concert for the 3 Harbours Arts Festival. Wilson Noble

Wilson Noble is a Scottish Singer, Songwriter, Guitarist, Poet, and Independent Musician from the North-East of Scotland. His music blends folk-inspired songwriting, rock influences with Celtic guitar and cultural themes. His guitar style which incorporates numerous altered tunings lends inspiration from Australian roots artist John Butler and the late English folk guitarist John Renbourn. Currently Wilson manages himself as an Artist through his and his partner’s Independent Record Label ‘Twin Soul Music’, and is working on releasing a solo compilation album celebrating his early recording career (spanning ten years 2004 – 2014). - http://wilsonnoble.com/

Chloe Steele & Jordan Neil

Chloe Steele (vocals) and Jordan Neil (guitar) are a newly formed traditional music duo based in South Uist and Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides. Chloe and Jordan were introduced to one another when they chose to study for BA Applied Music degree at Lews Castle College on the island of Benbecula where they both immersed themselves in the musical piping and song traditions of the islands. Together, Chloe and Jordan have been enchanting audiences throughout the Hebrides with their well-crafted and sensitive arrangements of a selection of old songs collected in Uist. Baile
Baile are a new, up and coming trad band based in the hub of the Glasgow trad scene. The band's sound comes from the use of the Scottish Border Pipes, Whistles and Fiddle with the backing of Bodhran and Guitar combined to make at times, a huge and driving sound and at others, delicate, weaving melodies. The band formed towards the end of 2016 before launching straight into 2017 with a jumpstarting performance at Celtic Connections Festival Club. Kate Griffin
Kate Griffin is contemporary artist fusing folk genres from around the world. Bethany Wappler 
Originally from the capital of the Highlands, Inverness, singer/songwriter Bethany Wappler, loved and explored music from a young age and now is based in Perth as she is currently studying for her BA (Hons) in Popular Music.She has played gigs in venues such as The Ironworks and Hootananny in Inverness, Buskers in Dundee and The Green Room in Perth over the past few years. Bethany is currently writing and recording her second EP which is to be released next year.She is always looking for opportunities to develop her technical skills and collaborate with creative professionals, and continue to push herself in stretching her imagination and musical boundaries. Liam Ross 
Liam began playing at the age of eleven. He was awarded the Ewen Stewart Trophy for outstanding achievement in music from Invergordon Academy. He is a highly qualified musician with a Bachelor Of Arts with Honours in Applied Music and is now studying with the University of the Highlands and Islands for a MA degree in Music and the Environment. He thrills crowds with his range of original songs and classic covers which showcase his lighting fast, finger picking style.  
Whenever he takes to a stage he seamlessly blends his guitar playing, humor, emotion and commanding stage presence to engage a range of audiences. This was seen in his appearances at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival and the Perthshire Amber to name but a few. Liam's music is influenced by such artists as Fleetwood Mac, Dire Straits and Tommy Emmanuel. Celtic music is also an underlying influence behind his own songs. Glasgow University Folk Music Group

We a group of students of the University of Glasgow with a common interest in folk music. We meet once a week for an hour and a half to learn traditional Scottish and Irish tunes, and then we go to the pub and play the rest of the night away in a session. We have students across all subject areas involved, not just music students. We play a few concerts throughout the year within the University and we love to take opportunities to play outside the University in events such as Celtic Connections. 

Sam and Joe

Sam Begbie is a singer-songwriter based in Glasgow, combining elements of folk, rock and jazz, his songs have received high praise, even from listeners outwith his immediate family. Joe and Sam formed a musical partnership in the early months of last year, showing for the first time, and by no means the last, Joe's impeccable sense of timing. Elizabeth

Elizabeth, from central Scotland pursued her career in music in her late teens whilst studying in Perth. She started songwriting at an early age and now being in her early twenties she has had experience recording and touring her music. Elizabeth released her debut EP 'Short and Sweet' in 2016 which is available to buy or stream on all online platforms. Anna Garvin and Calum McIlroy

Anna Garvin and Calum McIlroy are both currently studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on the BA Traditional Music degree.  They have grown up within different musical communities, Anna hailing from Oban on the West coast of Scotland, and Calum from Elric, Aberdeenshire.  As such they are inspired by many cultures; Scottish, Irish, Scandinavian and Canadian being some of the influences on their repertoire.  
Over the last few years, both musicians have had the pleasure of being involved in the Cèilidh Trail movement, run by Fèisean nan Gaidheal, which gave them the opportunity to tour in bands and perform in various venues in their local areas and beyond.  Some highlights of those tours include concerts at Celtic Connections and the Blàs Festival.  Anna is a fluent Gaelic speaker and Calum has a great knowledge of the Scots language.  They are also both very interested in learning more about the traditional music and heritage from other parts of Scotland as well as around the world.  Living and studying in Glasgow, they wish to develop and enhance their musical identities, both as individuals and as a duo; taking full advantage of the fantastic opportunities that this vibrant city holds.

Eldorado 4

Eldorado four are a Limerick based group comprised of Vinny Murphy, Conor O'Loughlin, Gary Fagan and Ciara O'Shea. The group met during their time studying Irish Music and Dance in the Irish World Academy. Each member hailing from a different corner of Ireland, they all bring influences from their own native area which come together to create a well blended and diverse sound. They play a rich mix of traditional tunes with a lively and modern twist and also include a unique take on traditional Irish song.

TRIPPLE

Tripple are Cait, Annie and Jill; sisters and mum.  Tripple have a big love of the traditional music and songs of Scotland and especially enjoy arranging them in a contemporary way. By using interesting harmonies, finely tuned dynamics, with a wee spattering of unusual sounds for good measure we love bringing the old songs to life and help tell the stories within. Tripple are 2/3 based in Glasgow, 1/3 in Banffshire. Although the sisters are still in their very early twenties they have been enjoying singing, fiddling and harping they were wee and started performing at the world Burns federation competitions when they were just  eight years old.  Tripple are regular performers and between us we appear, and have appeared, in NYCoS, the North East Folk Collective, the Strathspey Fiddlers, Feis Rois Ceilidh Trail, Peplo, Local Vocals and Aurora Choir. We have performed in Ireland, Canada, USA, France, Germany, Finland, Norway and all over Scotland including the Usher Hall, Edinburgh, Balmoral and Fyvie Castles, the Scottish Parliament, Dunfermline Pavilion and Aberdeen’s Music Hall.
