Thinking about something for the students of Caledonian Court, I reflected on why the official accommodation of GCU does not have an official, constituted officer at the Student Voice. I took the idea forward to the Executive Committee and then the Student Voice to get it approved after multiple revisions of the paper.

The ‘Caledonian Court Officer’, will provide a voice to the students that reside at Caledonian Court as an official body within our democracy. The Officer would represent the students and their interests at Caledonian Court. The position will also align Caledonian Court to be more student-led than just having the typical Residential Assistants working under the University’s management.

As of now, all the papers of the new position, the Caledonian Court Officer, have been passed along with all the rest of the formalities completed. It is now time to put it into action and something that I plan on finalising in the next coming months.
