Black History Month is marked every October and is usually a time to reflect and commemorate on the progress we have made as a people and what still needs to be done to meet racial equality.
Black History Month focuses on people whose sacrifices, contributions and achievements against a backdrop of racism, inequality and injustices have paved the way for black excellence but are often forgotten or not celebrated enough.
We will have our highlight Show Racism the Red Card campaign on the 22nd October where we will all wear red and donate towards racial education.
We have so many fantastic students and alumni of colour doing amazing things and we will be highlighting them throughout the month.
Also for the first time our student magazine The Edit will have a Black History Month Issue that will highlight black voices and stories amongst many other activities that you can be involved in and find on our social media channels and website.
