B.M.E. Leadership Workshop within Student Leaders Programme achieved

Friday 03-11-2017 - 13:40

We had the B.M.E. (Black or Minority Ethnic) Leadership Workshop in the Student Leaders Program on 2nd November 2017 with an educative and powerful message from Mrs Safia, from CEMVO (Council of Ethnic Minority Voluntary Sector Organisations). Topics talked about, dealt with overcoming conscious and unconscious biases within leadership, educating people across Scotland and the United Kingdom on the importance of diversity in leadership.

This I must say should be encouraged among education systems and across the globe with awareness on employability support for the ethnic minority group which will help increase integration and cultural awareness even to home students.   So far, the journey about leadership that I learnt was about ‘mentoring, advocating, guidance, management, control, given reasonable directions and authority with respect to people’.

According to Alice walker 'The most common way people give up their power is thinking they don't have any'...

I agree as long as you believe in yourself, then you will achieve.
