GCU Merchandise - A Missed Opportunity?

Most universities across Scotland offer a range of merchandise that lets students and staff represent their uni. Unfortunately, GCU's previous partnerships with third parties haven’t provided much variety and are no longer accessible.

Imagine different styles of GCU-branded hoodies, beanies, eco-friendly water bottles, notebooks, lanyards, mouse pads, or even tote bags for your late library trips. These would make great keepsakes and are practical for everyday student life, available for purchase at the Student Association building or online.

Ideas to make this happen:

  • Student/Local design submissions - This could save on design costs while being great experience on student CVs or give exposure to local artists in Glasgow
  • Pre-orders - To minimise financial risk, there could be a pre-order campaign. This would mean only producing what’s in demand and would ensure guaranteed funding before manufacturing.

Would love to hear more merch ideas or any way this could be realistically made possible with a limited budget in the comments.
