Attention Needed; Students’ Concerned…

Thank you for raising this. We have passed this on to the VP for SCEBE.

Student Voice did discuss this idea on 4th December 2023 and while they were sympathetic and understanding of using the Idea platform to raise awareness and press for change, they decided not to take it on as official policy as it relates to a single class.

I believe the reason we are in school is to learn new things and get better at the ones we may already know but in my class, Big Data Technologies, this seem to be a bit different. There's a lecturer in my class who never for once give responses/guide to questions but would rather say 'I don't know'. This has never in any way helped students for each of his courses (Big Data Landscape, Tri A and Cloud Computing and Web Services, Tri B). This two courses have over time have the highest rate of failed students than other modules. Students are not communicated to what is expected as they aren't aware of why they are marked down especially in the courseworks. No guide explains what a student should have done to score a particular mark in the coursework as the results are vague when they are eventually released.

It would be helpful if this is attended to as this has raised so much concerned over time...
