In partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University, we created a Student Pantry on Level 0 of the Students’ Association Building on the Glasgow Campus. The Student Pantry was created to respond to the current Cost of Living Crisis that is affecting our students and was a Team Objective for the Full Time Officers in 2023/24.
Once per fortnight, GCU students are eligible to book a date and time slot in advance to attend the Student Pantry to collect up to 10 free food items, such as packets of pasta, rice, porridge and tinned foods. The availability of products will determine what you are given. We have limited supplies and so will not be able to cater for every GCU student. The food collected from the Pantry is not designed to be a week or fortnight’s full food shop but will contain a good range of cupboard staples that will make sure your own groceries and budget can go further.
The Student Pantry is normally open on a Tuesday and Thursday from 8.30am to 9.30am. The Student Pantry will close for Trimester A 2024/25 on Thursday 12th December 2024.
