Description

The Social Work Society aims to encourage interaction between members throughout the year with social events. These events work to encourage discussion and debate outside of the normal lecture structure, and will include external speakers and workshops. We hold monthly events where students form all years of the social work program can come together to discuss issues, workload, placement, essay support and anything else! We also host screenings of movies and documentaries which focus on societal issues such as homelessness, and have a panel discussion with individuals who work in that field or are service users in that field to discover new ways in which we can address the issues. We work with local community groups to raise awareness and funds for their causes and those in need. We also have social events for everyone to come out, get to know each other and have fun!
