Founded last academic year 2014-2015, GCU Innovation and Entrepreneurship society was formed by a group of students who are enthusiastic about starting their own business and are looking for ways to take their ideas to fruition.
In the beginning, we established our mission based on the following points:
1. To breed entrepreneurs and not employees
2. To challenge / test and implement ideas
3. To build successful startups within GCU
4. To ensure a level of autonomy, for students to think for themselves, run themselves and guide each other
5. Ideate, create and innovate
We scoped out the organisations that are associated with entrepreneurship and education, looking for ways for us students for opportunities towards starting a business, such as GCU's Entrepreneurial hub, UHatch, the Scotland CAN DO Inaugral Assembley, the Converge Challenge Launch Conference, and the Scottish Institute for Enterprise Summit.
If you're the kind of person who likes inspiration, the idea of changing the world and doing it your way, get involved!
Committee positions are as follows, however, this will be passed on in the next meeting on Monday 12th October 2015, Students' Association.
