'Not your Student' Documentary Premiere

Join us for the premiere of "Not Your Student," a documentary exploring the evolving student experience. Welcome drinks and panel session.

An evening designed to challenge perspectives and spark sector-wide conversation, powered by GCU Students’ Association and The Social Hub.

Not Your Student is a feature documentary exploring the realities of the modern student experience beyond stereotypes, metrics and assumptions.

Through powerful, unfiltered stories from students, staff and sector voices, the film reflects on identity, belonging, housing, career, immigration, mental health and the pressures shaping student life today.

Bringing together students, university leaders, Glasgow city council, policymakers and sector organisations, this premiere creates a space for meaningful dialogue on what needs to change.

Marking a closing moment at the end of the producer’s term as Student President, the evening will include:

  • Welcome drinks and light refreshments
  • Red carpet
  • Premiere screening (under 70 minutes)
  • Panel discussion: Beyond the Data: Rethinking the Student Experience
  • Informal networking across the higher education sector

Join us for an evening of storytelling, reflection and action.
