Hosted by the Two Roads Charity, this two-hour live online suicide prevention programme will help you understand where suicide risk comes from and by understanding the reasons behind why fellow students may become at risk we are better able to help them.
During this programme, you will learn how to use the Look Listen Link model to reduce risk within our friends, flatmates and fellow students, by spotting the signs someone may be at risk, by listening to them, and by linking them to the help they need including GCU Wellbeing Services, Students' Association Advice Centre or their GP.
The session will involve a presentation from the trainer and discussions in small breakout groups. The breakout group tasks will not involve any role play. You will be under no pressure to answer questions or participate in break out rooms if you do not feel comfortable doing so.
There is strong cross-over between this session and the Emotional Resilience session. We would advise that students only sign up for one or the other.
After you have booked your ticket, you will be contacted nearer the time with the Zoom link to join the session.
