WALK COMMENCES FROM MILNGAVIE AT 11AM

RETURNING TO MILNGAVIE APPROX. 3PM

Meeting points: Milngavie Train Station and Costa Coffee, Milngavie. Times to be confirmed.

                     

The Mature and Part-Time Students group are walking from Milngavie, via the West Highland Way, to sample the delights of Mugdock Country Park. The route we are walking offers riverside, moorland and woodland terrains, with a light lunch, refreshments and a couple of castles thrown in.

 

The route takes the West Highland Way out of Milngavie and soon follows the Allander Water to enter the Country Park. It strikes out through parkland and deciduous woodland to reach Mugdock Castle. A broad track leads past the ruined Craigend Castle to the visitor centre with toilets, cafe, giftshop and other facilities. We will stop for lunch and explore the gardens, garden centre and gift shops at your leisure before heading back to Milngavie.
