Celebrate International Women’s Day with GCU London Volunteer Team s we bring together a powerful panel of trailblazing women who are shaping industries, breaking barriers, and driving change worldwide.
Panel
Anam Shahzadi - Recipeint of the Young Scholars Award 2023 (Pakistan). She is a passionate advocate for women's rights and a public and motivational speaker. She is doing a degree in International Business Management at Glasgow Caledonian University, London. Previously, She holds a Reseach Master's degree in English Literature. She served as President of the Debating Society at LCWU, Lahore, Pakistan (2014-18). She has also worked as the Documentation Head at the University of Central Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan (2019-21). She has served as a volunteer at the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in organising various curricular activities (2014-18). She was awarded Best Speaker at the Human Rights Conference organised by the Government of Pakistan in 2016. She is dedicated to empowering individuals, especially women. She got invited as the Guest of Hounour at International Women's Day Conference 2024 (organised by Unique Group of Schools, Pakistan) to acknowledge her achievements. She is excited to be a part of this International Women's Day event.
Palma Jacob - With over 20 years of experience leading teams and driving initiatives in loss prevention, risk management, emergency response, and H&S management across high-risk sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, security, social care, and mental health, Palma Jacob is a seasoned professional committed to ensuring safe and compliant environments. Palma’s expertise spans across risk and emergency response management, Safety, infection control, loss prevention, security and public health strategy development. She is skilled in developing and enforcing health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, leading crisis response initiatives, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. A NEBOSH Diplomat and Lead Auditor for ISO45001, Palma is also a certified Health & Safety instructor. She is passionate about public health awareness, sustainability, CSR and improving healthcare safety standards.
Sindhu Rajendran - Sindhu is an experienced HR professional with 12 years in the field, starting as a recruiter and progressing to an HR manager. Throughout her career, she has navigated the challenges of balancing professional growth with marriage and motherhood, remaining committed to her ambitions. A key milestone for me was pursuing my master’s abroad at Glasgow Caledonian University, where she achieved a distinction—a dream she was proud to fulfil. Now, as a mother of a toddler, she continues to drive impactful HR initiatives, believing that resilience and perseverance are key to overcoming obstacles, especially for women in the workforce.
Eileen Martin - Eileen Martin is a US student completing her graduate studies at GCU London with 45 years of work experience in several industries and fields. She grew up wanting to work in international relations, and enjoys learning other languages and travelling to learn about other cultures. She especially enjoys continuously learning, volunteering in her community, and solving problems. She is currently working on studies of her local park, hoping to find ways to analyse litter to devise waste management solutions along with providing useful information to the local council that manages the park.

Kumar Vishesh (FRSA,ACIM) - With over four years of experience in media and marketing, Kumar has a proven track record of delivering impactful results across multiple platforms. Heh has worked with diverse clients and partners, such as the National Indian Students and Alumni Union UK and Natter, to enhance their brand presence and influence through storytelling, community building, and market research. As a Fellow at The RSA, Kumar is passionate about applying my skills and knowledge in ethical marketing to create positive social change. He has a Master's degree in International Marketing from Glasgow Caledonian University, where he learned how to develop and implement effective marketing strategies that align with global standards and best practices. He is also a recipient of the Student of the Year 2023 award and the Leadership and Teamwork certification, which demonstrate my commitment to excellence and collaboration.
