The university IT department are in the final stages of planning to migrate student H: drives to a new storage platform with a minimum of disruption to students. All of the student's files, permissions and network paths will all remain the same and the switchover should be seamless other than a period of read only access.

Some key dates of this migration are:

  •         Saturday 21st October - Student H: drives will be read only from 10pm to facilitate the final copy of changed data to the new storage

  •         Monday 23rd October – Student H: drives will be available normally for read/write access with no changes to data or network paths

If any students need to work on changes to files on their H: drive during the read only access phase, they will be able to make a local copy, edit the file as normal, then copy to their H: drive on Monday morning.

Any students experiencing problems after this migration should get in touch with the university IT dept.
