RayRay, BSc (Hons) Computing

How did you first get involved?

I first got involved with Radio Caley in second year when my friend told me about it and I followed them along to the station and was introduced to everything, I immediately felt welcome and part of something. I soon started co-hosting a show with a fellow first-timer before branching out with my own show.

Why did you decide to get involved?

I had wanted to get involved in the Students' Association and do stuff but had been nervous since I didn't know anyone there already but when I found out my friend was, I followed them over, met people and got involved!

What difference has it made to your university experience being involved?

Being a part of Radio Caley was just the beginning of everything, I started to join societies and make more mates. I also made the decision to become the President of the LGBT+ Society, Head of Comms for Disney Society and the Treasurer for Cali-Otaku Society. I love getting involved and making mates and helping others get involved.

What difference has your involvement made to others?

I think I have helped several people come out of their shell more, used their potential to further themselves and others. I have encouraged others to be brave by setting and example and just saying that there is no harm in trying.
