Student President Oluwatomisin (Tom Tom) Osinubi and Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Mairi Watson have signed a new GCU Strategic Partnership Framework between the University and Students’ Association.
The framework outlines how the University’s executive leadership and the Students’ Association executive will work together to enhance the student experience. It provides a structured approach for strategic collaboration, ensuring the student voice informs senior decision-making while supporting the independence of the Students’ Association. The framework complements existing student partnership agreements and promotes transparency, accountability, and coordinated engagement across the University.
The Framework was formally signed by the Principal and Student President on 11th March 2026.
Principal Professor Mairi Watson said: “Ensuring that our students’ voice is at the heart of the University’s strategic thinking, planning and decision-making is crucial to delivering an excellent learning experience and outcomes for those who study with us. I’m delighted to be signing the new Strategic Partnership Framework today and ensuring the GCU Students' Association continues its important role in the development of our University community.”
Student President Tom Tom said: “This is an encouraging sign of the University’s commitment to enhancing genuine and proactive partnership with the Students’ Association. It builds on the strong working relationship in practice that we already have and creates a shared platform to continue strengthening how the University Executive and Students’ Association continue to work together. Through this partnership, we will strategically and incrementally enhance the student experience in ways that are meaningful in practice for the diverse students who make up our community."
