In the GCU 2020 Estates Strategy, it’s proposed to relocate ‘the Students’ Association to ensure it’s at the heart of campus with enhanced visibility’. Since the Summer of 2015, both the University and Students’ Association have been discussing the possibility to enhance the Students’ Association, whilst the University develops a Centre for Living.
A potential Students' Association move was stated in the Principal’s Review of the Year 2017/18, and the Student President, Rachel Simpson, has been involved in conversations throughout 2018/19 to see what this could mean for GCU Students. She said, “The Students’ Association are open to discussing a move that would enhance the premises and provision for its members, GCU students.” She added that “although nothing formal has yet been proposed, this is an exciting opportunity for the Students' Association! We will continue to keep all members and stakeholders fully involved and consulted with the process.”
All students at Glasgow Caledonian University are automatically members of GCU Students' Association.
This membership is free for current GCU students.
