National Lottery Community Fund Bid Successful

Thursday 02-11-2023 - 19:42

The Students' Association has secured £10,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund, made possible by National Lottery players, to run our Give it a Go Programme on the Glasgow Campus during the academic year 2023/24.

Funding will support physical health, mental health and wellbeing strategic theme in our Strategic Plan

The aim of this programme is to get GCU students to try an activity with either an on campus group (society, sports club, media group or representative network) or external community group, with the option to continue involvement with that community group afterwards. We want to bring GCU students together to build strong relationships in and across communities. We believe participation in the Give it a Go Programme will result in students feeling less isolated and develop a sense of belonging at Glasgow Caledonian University. linked to improved student mental health and wellbeing.

The National Lottery Community Fund, Scotland Chair, Kate Still said: “National Lottery funding can make amazing things happen in local communities across the country. This project delivered by Glasgow Caledonian University Students' Association, is a great example of community activity in action when people come together."

Launching a Give it a Go Programme

The Give it a Go Programme will be running from 13th Nov - 15th Dec 2023 in Trimester A and 29th Jan - 22nd March 2024 in Trimester B. Find out more>>>
