Hi all,

Happy Summer!

My name is David Grimm and I’m holding the role of care experienced officer for this year, some of you will recognise me from a few years ago, or from Rachel's email updates, but I just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself.

I am about to enter 4^th year of my social work degree, I have past ( a good time ago) experience of foster care, residential care, and kinship care. I would say that though my care was a while ago, that passion to see change in the world of care, has never gone away. I chose to apply for this role so that we can keep momentum and keep a spotlight on the issues and challenges of care experienced students throughout GCU.

Going forward, the care experienced group - Care Experience Students' Network @ GCU Students' Association will be looking for more people to get involved and drive changes within the university, I will be very busy with placement this year, so all help will be appreciated.

I really hope some of you feel comfortable enough to get involved and show the university how amazing care experienced people are, but also the students association has so many amazing groups and societies to get involved with and you can find those here - GCU Students' Association
