As Trimester 2 draws near, let's not forget the successes within our netball club from last trimester.

The club welcomed 25 new players after their Come and Try session during Freshers, adding to the first team members and expanding their recreational team to 38 members. The recreational team is open to players of all abilities and with the Re: Freshers Fayre starting next Monday offers GCU students a chance to try out the sport and hopefully join the team!

The first team won all three fixtures they played last trimester, keeping up their winning streak resulting in them being top of their league! One of the first teams highlights from trimester A was remaining undefeated in BUCS and with the upcoming fixtures for trimester 2 long may this continue! Their recreational team also won one of their tournaments in trimester 1 which is a great success and hopefully, trimester 2 sees more of the same!

The team hosted a Welcome Party for the new players with an 'Egg and Soldiers' theme and the committee are looking forward to hosting their trimester 2 Welcome Back event. Trimester 1 was very social for the team, from quiz nights and team nights out to Christmas dinners and festive celebrations, the team had many opportunities to create bonds and make strong friendships. Four girls represented the team by participating in The Great Scottish Run fundraising a massive £1100 for the charity which is amazing to see GCU Sport get involved in supporting great causes.

The team are excited about their upcoming games in trimester 2 and are looking forward to launching their team fundraiser so keep an eye peeled for the details!
