Students at Glasgow Caledonian University have chosen their new representatives, with the results now confirmed for the 2026–2027 Full-Time Officer team.
Following a week of campaigning, student debates, and thousands of votes cast, the GCU student community has elected the leaders who will represent their interests and champion student priorities across the university over the coming year.
After the final votes were counted, the following candidates were successfully elected:

The new officers will take up their roles ahead of the next academic year, working closely with students, university leadership, and the Students’ Association to advocate for improvements to student life, learning, and wellbeing.
This year’s election saw 2,258 students take part in voting, demonstrating continued engagement from across the GCU community.
Student elections are a key moment in the academic calendar, giving students the opportunity to shape the direction of their Students’ Association and influence decisions that affect their university experience.

Chinenye “NENNY” has been elected as Student President, receiving the highest number of votes in the election.
As President, Chinenye will lead the Students’ Association and act as the primary voice for GCU students. The role includes representing students at senior university meetings, campaigning on key student issues, and working alongside the Vice Presidents to deliver meaningful change.
To thank students for participating in the election, the Students’ Association also hosted a voter prize draw during the voting period.
