Green impact sus very good

As part of our sustainability commitments, GCU Students' Association have taken part in NUS's Green Impact scheme for the past 6 years. This year saw a brand new workbook and a brand new challenge but we are pleased to announce we have been awarded Very Good in the new workbook's first year. This means we have already reached the ambitious target we set ourselves in The Bigger Plan 2020.

Jodie Waite, former Vice President GSBS and policy lead, had this to say on the news:

“I am so pleased that GCU Students’ Association has again demonstrated its commitment to positively contributing to the environment. Maintaining our Green Impact accreditation demonstrates our continuation of developing new ways in which we can engage students in environmental and sustainability campaigns, and I am proud that this commitment has been made sustainable through featuring in our Strategic Plan.”

Kayleigh van Dongen, our outgoing Ethical and Environmental Officer, is delighted to add this to her list of achievements before graduating:

"With the re-vamping of Green Impact this year...aiming for the stars was proven quickly to be difficult. The aim was to get Good, but we actually achieved Very Good and I am incredibly proud of this achievement. It proofs our dedication and hard work has paid off, and shows how much wevalue our work in creating a greener university around me, and leaves me incredible proud to leave GCU as a graduate this year...and providing a good foundation for the next team to continue the amazing work that we have started and continue working towards even higher goals."
