You can now chat online with a Student Adviser!

You can now chat with a student adviser direct from our website using our new chat service.

You will find the chat button on the bottom right of each of our Advice Centre webpages.

How does it work?

Our chat service will normally be available during our opening hours, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm. It's not available on public holidays when we are closed.

Whilst we aim to reply to chat messages as soon as possible, we are a busy, 2 person team and might not be able to respond straight away. Leave your email and we will respond to your question as soon as we can - you will get an email notification when we do.

What type of help can I get over the chat?

Chat is good for fairly quick, one-off questions, like finding other support services, forms, or just identifying the kind of advice or support you need. We’ll try to answer any query you have over chat as far as possible. If your issue or question is more complex we might need to organise a follow up email, phone or MS Teams appointment.

Is the chat confidential?

Yes, of course.  You can read our Advice Centre confidentiality statement here.

Why do I need to give my email address?  What about my privacy?

When you use the chat service you will be asked to provide your email address, so that you can be notified when we respond to your message if it’s outside of our opening times or if we’re unable to respond straight away.

Before you do you will be asked to check a box to consent to our privacy policy.  You should read the privacy statement, which sets out how we store and use your personal information and your rights around this, before you consent check the box to consent.
