A welcome back to returning members (and new ones), for this 3 night trip!

 

Tickets are now live for this trip until 1st September @ 6pm. It is recommend to purchase a ticket as early as possible as trips tend to sell out fast.

 

We will be making the journey up to Laggan for the extended trip and it is an ideal chance to get back into the mountains before the hard work begins again!

 

We will be making the journey up on the Friday afternoon via club van for this 3 night trip.

 

Activities

 

This trip sees us return to the location of last years mystery trip, which was a firm favourite, especially the games room! There is a good smattering of options for hiking in the area such as Monadhliath, Creag Meagaidh & Creag Pitridh mountain ranges to name but a few. We will of course be subject to the weather in terms of where will give us the best days out.

 

Please be prepared for 3 days of mountain activities. Please see the kit list which details what to bring on a day hike.

 

Accomodation 

We are staying at Laggan Community Hall, so bring your own sleeping mat and bag. As always if you are unsure please contact the committee.

 

Facilities include:

- Fully equiped kitchen

- Showers

- Large hall for sleeping/planning/social activities

- Conference room

- WC

- Games room

 

We will need to clean the hall before we leave and we expect everyone to help with this, and in usual GCUMC fashion we aim to leave the place cleaner than we found it.

 

What to bring

This trip will require non-winter orientated gear, but please remember to bring a warm layer still. If you're unsure on what to bring please contact us.

As this is a trip with accomodation we will be sleeping in the hall for 3 nights, you will be required to have a sleeping bag and sleeping mat (we also have a limited amount to use if you do not have these, and you MUST bring your own sleeping bag liner) along with your day sack for the trip, prepare for 3 days worth of mountain activity. It is also important that you bring something to eat for all days as we are not near a shop, although there are places to potentially eat in the next town.

 

If you wish to loan any club equipment for the trip, please contact the Gear Secretary (Equipment will be loaned out on a first ask, first serve basis).

 

Pre-Trip Meeting

Where: MS Teams

 

The pre-trip meeting is there to discuss the trip and ask any questions. You will receive an invite via e-mail closer to the date.

Tickets are on sale from Monday 19th August 2024 at 5pm until Sunday 1st September 2024 at 6pm
